Power Flushing Solutions
on the Wirral

Is your boiler underperforming? Does it seem to take forever for your domestic water supply to heat up? Do your radiators feel lukewarm at best, even when they’ve been switched on for hours? All of these symptoms could be signs of a build-up of residue in your boiler that is affecting its performance.

Sludge, rust, debris, and other impurities in the water collect over time, settling on the interior of your boiler. Since they are less conductive than the water in the tank and the metal of the boiler itself and its network of pipes, they make it more difficult for heat to pass through. This means your boiler needs to operate longer and at higher temperatures to heat your home the way it once did. Fortunately, there is a solution… power flushing.

What Is Power Flushing?

Power flushing is a fast and effective way to remove sludge, rust, and other residue from the inside of your boiler, radiators, and pipes. We seal the system off and pump a powerful cleaning solution through it. This breaks down any residue, loosening it from the inside and dislodging it from the various parts of your system. The water and cleaning solution are then drained out, carrying the sludge with them and leaving your system sparkling and clean.

Does My Boiler Need a Power Flush?

It can be difficult to tell from the outside whether your boiler or central heating system is in need of a power flush. Telltale signs include your hot water supply and radiators taking longer than normal to heat up or having to increase the temperature on your thermostat to achieve the same results as before.

If you believe your heating system is underperforming, call Wirral Central Heating, and we will perform a full inspection for you to determine the problem and advise you on the best way to resolve it.

How Often Should I Get a Power Flush?

We recommend power flushing your system every time you get a new boiler or radiator installed to ensure maximum efficiency from the start. If you keep your boiler and central heating system properly serviced and maintained, you should only need an additional power flush once every 5 years.

Can Anyone Perform a Power Flush?

Like any form of plumbing maintenance, a power flush should only be performed by a fully trained and qualified plumber or heating engineer. The process uses harsh chemicals that can be harmful to you as an individual as well as your central heating system if used incorrectly.

At Wirral Central Heating, we have the skills and experience to ensure a safe, clean power flush every time.
